We supply the S847 series of snap-action switches in dust and water-proof designs up to IP67. Like the S826, this microswitch can be used in a wide variety of ways. Thanks to its robust structure, the S847 can even connect higher power ranges. The mechanical positive opening ensures the functioning of the break contacts, even if these were to be fused in a short circuit.
The two contact bridges of the S847 are galvanically isolated. In every switch operation, they rub in a defined fashion on the V-shaped fixed contacts and ensure a high level of contact reliability. The S847 therefore also connects low voltages and currents safely and reliably. For use in aggressive environments with low switching frequencies, we recommend gold contacts.
The S847 is suitable for safety applications in rough environments, as a position switch or end position switch, for example.

Features

Changeover contact with two galvanically isolated contact bridges.

Microswitches with two galvanically isolated contact bridges which are both attached in the plunger and are guided by it. When the snap-action switch is actuated, the bottom bridge opens the bottom contact pair (connections 1 and 2) and the top bridge closes the top contact pair (connections 3 and 4).

Continuous thermal current up to 10 A; disconnecting medium power ranges

A contact bridge spreads the breaking capacity over two contact points. The contact material is silver. For the switching of high direct currents, we recommend blow magnets for preventing electric arcs (optional).

Break contacts with positive opening

If the break contacts fuse in the event of a short circuit, the catch spring can no longer open. It is nevertheless opened reliably via the lever of the positive opening. This is a positive opening as outlined in DIN EN 60947-5-1, annex K.

Self-cleaning double contacts

In every switching process, the contact bridges rub in a defined fashion on the V-shaped fixed contacts and remove corrosion and combustion residue. Permanently low contact resistances ensure a high level of contact reliability throughout the service life.

Reliable switching of low currents

With self-cleaning silver contacts, small currents can be connected reliably and frequently. In chemically aggressive environments and with low switching frequencies, we recommend gold contacts.

Shock resistance 30 g, vibration resistance 30 g

The switch mechanism of this microswitch has been designed to be especially robust. Catch springs and return springs are designed so that the switching process works reliably even in the event of shocks and vibrations.
