Schaltbau PAD 41 – Passenger alarm handles for wall mounting

Modern passenger alarm handles from Schaltbau are used in rail vehicles worldwide and represent the highest safety standards. New to the portfolio: the PAD 41 devices. Their striking, clearly recognisable design ensures that the emergency brake switch can be found quickly and operated intuitively, even in stressful situations.

All versions are equipped with snap switches with forced opening – as required for safety switches – and guarantee reliable, trouble-free operation for many years.

In addition, the passenger alarm handles are available in numerous customer-specific variants, for example with remote or one-hand reset, LED indicator lights or individual labelling.

Ergonomic design and high robustness

The new generation of passenger alarm handles impresses with its ergonomic design in two versions and high recognition value. The housing and handle are made of durable die-cast aluminium and feature a powder-coated, chemical-resistant surface. All devices can be sealed, which ensures additional security.

Versatile designs and customisation options

The standard version is available in red according to RAL3020 – optionally with or without customised lettering in numerous languages, including multilingual versions for cross-border traffic.

Maximum flexibility and functionality

For maximum flexibility, variants with two, three or four snap-action switches from the S826 or S870 series are available. All switching elements feature positive opening and are equipped with gold or silver contacts. Connections can be made using M3 screws, flat plugs or stranded wires.

Special designs and safety features

Special designs with remote reset, integrated LED indicator lights and optional emergency hammer release are also available. The devices comply with all relevant standards, including IEC 16334-1:2014+A1: 2022 Chapter 10, IEC 45545-2, IEC 61373, IEC 60077-1/-2 and DB standard DBS 918340.

Maximum reliability and functional safety

Functional safety is guaranteed by a B10d rating of over 100,000 actuations and a recommended functional test cycle of more than 36. The PAD 41 series thus offers maximum reliability and safety for use in railway vehicles worldwide.
