With this extremely robust plug-in connector, Schaltbau offers
a high-performance solution for the safe and reliable AC
power transmission in modern rail vehicles. Optionally, the
connectors are also suitable for supplying power to parked
trains in depots and stabling facilities, in order to power AC
auxiliary systems – including battery charging – when the
regular power supply via the catenary is unavailable or not
in use. The connectors combine tried-and-tested railway
connector technology with high-performance industrial connector technology and are ideally suited to the demanding
operating conditions of rail transport. The robust and proven
design ensures high operational safety, durability and reliable
performance – even under the harsh environmental conditions
of railway operations.
Features
Wide power range
Voltages up to 400 volts and continuous thermal currents more than 250 amps. Main contacts in the plug and socket housings are securely protected by a finger-protection guard.
Easy operation
One-handed operation – thanks to the sliding mechanism on the handle of the socket housing. This saves effort and ensures safe locking and unlocking of the plug in the socket.
Feedback plug inserted
An optional switching element in socket housing detects whether the plug is correctly inserted and locked in place.
Comprehensive range Modularity
Plugs, coupling sockets and dummy sockets for flexible applications; also available configured with cable or individual conductors in a robust corrugated conduit.
Flammability
Meets the requirements of UL94-V0 and the following fireprotection standards EN 45545.
