In 2007, the French operator RATP started the replacement of ageing trains on the lines 2, 5 and 9 of the Paris Metro. The new five-car units (MF 01 / MF 2000 models) are build by a consortium of the train manufacturers Alstom, Bombardier, Technicatome and CSEE.

A first order was for 161 trains which were build until 2015, a second order of 12 trains is due to be delivered in 2016. Schaltbau Albatros was chosen to design and supply converters for all 173 trains, i. e. two 69 kVA auxiliary power supply units per train.
